These characters are colourful, engaging and relatable, helping to spark the child’s interest in reading this short novel.
STORYLINE: A child goes to his local park to feed the ducks at the pond, he notices that the ducks house is up for sale. One of the ducking’s highlights that they are having to move due to the plastic waste and pollution floating in the water, making it inhabitable for them. The child tells them to stay, offering to help clean up the park/pond. Together they learn about how to recycle properly, what the benefits are of recycling, and vow to spread the word to other people. Ultimately promoting the importance of keeping our local green spaces clean for wildlife, and for the environment.
