I’ve always had a keen interest in the creative arts—from music and cooking to, of course, art and design. I’m truly fascinated by how design shapes the way we communicate and just how much it can influence the identity of brands, people, and products.
To learn more and turn this passion into a career, I decided to complete an Art and Design foundation year at Loughborough University. Through this, I discovered a love for Graphic Design and Illustration, so in 2019, I chose to remain at Loughborough to pursue my BA (Hons) in Graphic Communication and Illustration.
In 2021, I was keen to gain more industry experience, so as part of my placement year, I worked at a Liverpool-based design studio for 12 months. This was a fantastic opportunity to apply what I’d learned at Loughborough and further develop my skills.
One of the best things I discovered during my studies was learning about the history behind key design elements, such as typography, which really broadened my appreciation for these seemingly simple details. When used well, they can transform a straightforward design into something dynamic.
After graduating, I started working at Two Chimps Coffee as a Digital Content and Web-based Marketing Designer. This position brought together many of the things I love about communication through design, while also introducing me to new areas like marketing.
On this website, you’ll find a selection of projects from my time at university, my industry experience, and a range of commissioned pieces. If you’d like to get in touch, please click here!
